Fried Rice Kitchen

So what had happened was—our usual Chinese spot, China Star, was closed yesterday so, we crossed over to the other side to Fried Rice Kitchen. We placed our order (fried wings/French fries for the hubby and Boneless Rib Combo for me) and walked outside to wait. It looked a little dingy so I decided to check the reviews. They are mostly terrible so, I thought “I hope the food is better than the reviews, we’re in too deep.” I don’t know what these folks are going on about in these reviews, the food was freaking delicious. My plate tasted like NY Chinese which I haven’t tasted for the last two years that I’ve been out here. Hubby was happy with his food too. The rice in my combo was thebomb.com, packed full of savory flavor, I drooled in my mouth. The rib tips are not that weird texture that’s hard to chew, it’s actual pieces shaved from ribs. We will definitely be back, sorry China Star. A little advice, don’t go by the reviews, give this little joint a try and tell me I’m lying. I joked to my husband that I think people leaving bad reviews just don’t want to share the food. 🙂

I enjoy the house fried rice, but the new crab boils are pretty decent too!

We were given chocolate sauce for our sushi which ruined several pieces. Spider maki was dry and overcooked, hard even. The spicy chicken tasted like coconut and wasn’t even spicy. Brown avacado on the dragon rolls. I hope we don’t get food poisoning.

From the moment you come to this place they give you a pleasant feeling. Very friendly crew, it is a happy restaurant to enjoy with buddies or with your date. heavenly cuisine, specialist chef de cuisine, comfortable price and generous service. Highly recommended.

The food is great, the prices are relatively cheap, and the people behind the counter are amazing. This is a small shop, and when it’s overcrowded with customers, orders can take a little longer than normal. I’ve seen customers go off the rails and berate the cashier for problems she has no control over. Despite this, she keeps her cool and acts kindly. This place is a gem, and it’s one of the few locations where if I ask the chef to make a dish ridiculously hot, he does it. One of my favorite Chinese restaurants ever!
