Went out of Lighthouse Point on a CC. The boat was clean and ready to go. I use that location quite often and Alex, the dock mate is always friendly, helpful and professional. Great day all around.

Mixed experience for us and we are pretty disappointed the past few months (see below about too many memberships).
Club is a good option if you can boat during the week. If you can mainly boat on the weekend, and want to boat during peak hours (after 12:00 Noon), you will boat maybe 1 day a month, needing to book reservations 3-4 weekends in advance (and hope the weather holds).
For example, as of today, 03/06/21, across the 3 Pompano Beach locations there are no mid-day weekend slots open until Sunday, April 4th, except for one pontoon boat on 03/27 at one location. That’s 4 weeks.
This definitely changed with Covid, Used to be 2 weeks max. And while there is more demand for boating, and the club is trying to add more capacity, the bottom line is, it is very difficult to get a boat. I’ve heard they are over-selling memberships, which makes some sense seeing as it just seems to be getting worse.
They claim 8 memberships per boat. Given you can currently book one weekend day a month (1 out of 8 weekend days), that would mean that all 8 members would need to be trying to book all weekend days in the month. Anyone who’s ever heard of an “unlimited” gym membership knows that doesn’t happen.
The people who work the locations are great, helpful, and seem to really like boating. The owner, with a 30-year career in the Marines, just needs to be more “fidelis” to his existing members.
Why not put memberships on hold instead of continuing the super-aggro sales pitches so you existing members can get boats?
We have been members for about a year and joined after selling a boat that we owned for 5 years and used over 1000 hours in that time. Obviously owning your own boat gives you more flexibility, and we expected less use. It is just disappointing, I guess.

Relatively new to Freedom and it is well worth it. We used the boat at Lighthouse point as reciprocal members and went fishing offshore then to lunch in the intercoastal. The boat was ready and the service by the dock person (Alex) was great. Been boating most of my life and happy to find this organization.

Had a great reciprocal at this pompano location. Please be aware there is a reciprocal fee at this location. I have been a freedom member for 9 years and have never had this fee before. It is reasonable at $15, but not something I expected. Dock staff was outstanding (Corey)
