Purchased car from their Ebay ad/listing, which stated car “in excellent condition….very well maintained…includes owner manuals”. Should have done pre purchase inspection but relied on ad and salesman’s comments on car. No owners manuals with car, salesman stated he would retrieve the manuals next day (never did and no returned calls despite my repeated requests for update).

Upon driving car out of dealership, about 25 miles out car engine overheated, oil light came on stating “oil below minimum level…immediately take car to closest service center”. Took car to my own Euro mechanic immediately for comprehensive inspection….Oil level minimum in car, several oil leaks, rear brake pads at zero, cutting into rotors/sensors, several other maintenance issues…..overall evidence of very little maintenance done in recent times..on a 2008 BMW with only 48,000 miles.

This dealership had a very positive rating on Ebay from their previous sales of cars, but they sold me the car outside the Ebay transaction process even though I made my offer thru EBay. This is a small used car dealership and they apparently got this car via an auction and offered it for sale without any inspection or service done on their part before listing it for sale ( ie, oil issue, rear brakes issue, and other maintenance problems).

Perhaps my experience was an unusual negative one with this dealership…obviously I won’t be a repeat customer ( and I have purchased a number of used cars in the past from Ebay, Autotrader, Hemmings, etc with no problems like this car). I would caution any potential purchaser of a car from them to have an independent pre purchase inspection before purchasing….my mistake here…was too trusting of a well written but misleading ad on Ebay.

Finally, an honest dealer! I have bought and sold a few cars here and always had a good experience. They actually operate with integrity which is very important in this business.
