Haven’t been here for a while but this place never fails to impress me! The boot sized beer was a highlight I always try different seasonal beers on their menu. The 2lb pork shank is a must but the pork stroganoff and fried chicken were also amazing today. Don’t forget to sample their sausages for appetizers.

Food is delicious! Place is kinda small and loud when full of people, but there’s also outside seating. German chocolate cake is one of the best cakes I’ve ever eaten (and I don’t love German chocolate cake…). Only complaint is that the food portions vary. Sometimes you pay $20 and get $20 worth of food, sometimes you get $10 worth. Other times I’ve ordered a $15 plate of food and ate on it for 3 days!!

Food was very good and a large portion. I don’t drink beer but tried the German beer with grapefruit juice which was excellent. Sides are very good also. My German family member told me the menu is more Bavarian. Ate out in the patio. Hope to be back soon.

We’ve eaten at the restaurant several times, with the food and beer always satisfying our taste. However, each of the last two times we were disappointed to be situated near people using foul language. Personally, I can do without hearing F-bombs when I’m eating. One time it was an apparent regular at the bar, and another was a guy with two friends at a table next to us. The second time, I asked the guy to watch his language and he obliged. Of course, he ignored me when I said, “have a good night” as I was leaving.
Might need to try a more family friendly restaurant next time we seek German food.

If you want to be pleasantly surprised on a Friday night, dress casually, and come sit in the parking lot at Old Munchen. The North End Rockers should be playing non stop for you. Two talented guys that will play everything from Lady Gaga to Boomtown Rats. There is a nice selection of Bier and have the sausage selection appetizer. Mmmmm…. Sausage.
