I live in Austin, TX.
I had set an appt prior to the shelter in place order.
I was told by both the appraiser and the co that it was considered an essential service.
So, I agreed.
When the appraiser showed up I had Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for him to wear. / Shoe covers and gloves. He had stated on the phone that he had a mask. I also place a can of Lysol that he could use prior to entering my home.
He refused to use the PPE and pulled out a mask from his pocket.
When I asked him to use the Lysol he answered ‘ You spray yourself’
I did as he requested, then requested he do the same. He would not.
My household consists of >60 yrs, diabetics as well individuals who have survived heart trouble.
I explained and he cont to refuse the PPE.
Never entered my home and the co refuses to refund my fee which they charged my credit card one week before he was supposed to arrive and perform the appraisal.

1. local authorities confirmed that appraisals are NOT considered essential in Texas.
2. The refusal of the PPE is a danger to myself and others, especially since the mask he was using appeared to have been used multiple times as well as not being a surgical mask nor an N 95 mask.

I told tha co rep that the appraiser himself was in danger of contracting the virus as well as spreading the virus to others.

I have worked with this AMC for several years and can say that they are one of the best. I have found them to be very professional and easy to work with in this complex system. Keep up the good work.
