Design Odyssey Inc.

As an initial warning: THIS COMPANY IS FRAUDULENT SO STAY FAR AWAY!!! THEY ARE NOT LICENSED AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING WITH ENGINEERING PLANS! The point of a review is to either share trust or give warning. By far and away this is being written as a warning not just regarding this ficticious company and its devious ways but for general warning when using an engineer or architect which we are learning the hard way. Over 1 year ago my wife and I decided to do work on our house and was “recommended” to with ABEY of Design Odyssey. All people have their wishes for home repair but we’re all limited by money. We gave ABEY our budget for what we could spend on repairs and he assured us that his magnificent plans would be within budget according to our wishes for the home. Five builder quotes later we were over double beyond what the plans called for. Point one, ABEY will promise the world knowing full well it will not work out. He created grand but INCOMPLETE plans as well. When shown to actual engineers and builders they were astounded by the lack of coherent diagraming when details were finely looked combed through. He had not even put down everything we asked for! Red Flag number 2, do not pay in full until your plans are reviewed in depth by a professional. We needed to scale down tremendously and change our plans since we could never afford to build what ABEY promised. Here we are, over 1 year later and HE WILL NOT RESPOND TO US. I’ll be frank, he charged us 20K for plans that could never be and has refused to respond to scale down 3/4 of what he promised so we could at least get to work. A final note, which we learned the hard way. ALWAYS RESEARCH THE LICENSE OF YOUR ENGINEER OR ARCHITECT. EVEN AFTER A FRIEND RECOMMENDED HIM, WE LATER FOUND OUT THAT DESIGN ODYSSEY GOES UNDER 3 NAMES AND ALL ARE NULL AND VOID FOR THEIR LICENSES AS OF 2013!!! WE ARE PRESENTLY IN WORKS WITH AN ATTORNEY TO FIGHT FOR OUR MONEY BACK. My wife and I hope this is a learning lesson regarding THE FRAUDS OF DESIGN ODYSSEY AND ABEY ALFASI and what to look out for in general when looking to remodel your house.
