Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health Center

This is thee absolute worst place to send your child for help. They do not help the children, the phone mysteriously hangs up every time you try to get information regarding your child or you’re transferred from department to department with no answers. The supervisors do NOT return calls. The psychiatrist do NOT reach out to you at all nor call you back. No one can give you information regarding your child or his/her well-being. If I could give them a negative star rating, I would. I wholeheartedly HATE this place!

Highly recommend not going here unless you are ordered by the courts or something. If you want genuine mental health help a big no from me. They really do not care and just want to get you in and out of there even though on top of that there’s still a ridiculous amount of time you have to wait. Only been here 3 times but only was genuinely seen once because even with appointments scheduled you wait over an hour. My last visit there I had to wait an hour and 15 min and right when it was my turn the doctor proceeded to joke and socialize in the patient room with other employees and the only reason she stopped was because the nurse had to tell her she had a line of people waiting. When I went in she was super dismissive and rude and didn’t even let me finish before walking out of the room. Terrible place.

The reason I am giving 5 stars is because o fthe way my wife was treated by 1st floor detox staff, especially a gentleman named GR.
He has shown my wife dignity and respect. By the way I have seen a change in her I see that 1 person can make a diffence. Not all places have caring people but he is one of then. Thank you for making sure my wife has had the best care this far. Thank you

Not a good experience. The nurses all have major attitudes and treat patients like animals. Not all but most. Trying to see a doctor or a physchogist once a day is hard. Not sure if they are understaffed or that’s how these are ran. I was hoping for compassionate loving care for my significant other and what I got was a place very badly ran. Place looks really nice from the outside. I even got yelled at by a staff member when just dropping off clothes. I know people are stressed right now but of you hate your job quit. It’s that easy find something else. I wanted to rate 5 stars and say they were the best and had great treatment. But it’s like a scene from a movie on there.

It’s a nice organized place with lots of competent staff workers.
I got the care I needed and the right medications to make
Me feel better. I highly recommend this place if you need it.
