Fort Lauderdale Marriott North

Exceeded my expectations! Friendly staff. Clean, spacious, comfy rooms. Nice bar area with a small, but decent menu. Local craft beers.

Booked a king bed… high floor.. balcony and arrived at 5:00pm and checked in.. granted room keys.. then off to the room… room smelled funny and no balcony.. Lysol could’ve corrected the smell but no balcony was the issue… alerted the front desk and was told it was a first come first serve basis.. Sounded like a lunch room or correctional facility response.. I asked why let me book to pay more for these features that you guys flip a coin on.. I could’ve booked a different hotel if this was made clear.. first bad experience with the Marriott chain though.. had better experience at other locations…

Despite covid restrictions placed on the hotel, no daily room service, pool, hot tub, dining or convenient store the accommodation were good. Room was clean, bed is extremely comfortable and staff very friendly and welcoming! The barista Melania is fantastic! Her kind heart and warm smile shined brightly behind her mask as she greeted us each morning. Thank you Melania for sharing your heart with us each day we stayed at the Marriott Fort Lauderdale North!

The staff at front of desk were amazing. Mr. Roosevelt was the best customer service I have ever had. The cons are the place is very old and they need a full remodel. I can’t believe they can hold the Marriott name. It’s a shame to the brand. The picture they show on their website are not the place I stayed. Don’t believe them. The air conditioner didn’t work properly. And the bathroom was so nasty. It was just a sad experience.

The hotel and common areas are beautiful, the front desk associate was pleasant as well as the bartender. The room is very nice but there was a weird smell, as if the carpet was old and wet. It was stronger when the a/c came on. Aside from this, I would definitely stay here again.
