Hampton Inn Ft. Lauderdale-Cypress Creek

Made reservations on line, asked Kayla if it was pet free and was assured it was a pet free facility.
Got there to check in and was told they only had one room left with a king bed that was on the first floor at the end of the hall right next to the exit door, we didn’t like the idea of being on the first floor and worst next to an exit door but went to check it out since we were so tired from an 13 hour drive then a 3 hr funeral. Once we entered the room it was smelly and dingy looking so we immediately called the front desk and informed the young lady that it was not satisfactory and she immediately offered us another room on the third floor. When we got to the room it was much better at first glance, however we then discovered that the bed linens were stained with looked to be blood drops, we then discovered that the bath towels also had numerous short curly black hairs in them and there was a lot of mold in the upper corners of the bathroom. We called back down to the front desk and informed the young lady who then told us that she herself would be up to change the bedding and towels which she did. However even the second set of towels had hair in them, one of them had a whole wad of long black hair as if someone had cleaned a comb in it. I don’t know or can even figure out how whoever folded the towels didn’t see all the hair.
The carpet in the lobby, hallways, and elevator desperately needs a good shampoo.

The area of this hotel is in a very sketchy area. Directly across from a night club and the traffic trickles over to the hotel parking lot. They use the hotel parking for the club parking. My boyfriend’s car was broken into on our 1st night after being there only 20 minutes along with 6 or 7 other cars all in one night. There is absolutely NO security. I was on the 1st floor and felt like I was outside with how much traffic and noise I could hear inside my room ALL night long. I contacted the front desk after my stay and spoke with a manager he was very pleasant and apologetic and provided a remedy for my inconvenience.

Customer service was great however I give the rating of my stay a 1-star..

The king bed room was incredibly small. Outdated and worn furniture. Staff was nice and breakfast was decent. It’s fine for an overnight.

Stayed here last weekend for one night. This hotel was built in 1985 (and shows it). The front desk said it was the 35th Hampton Inn (out of over 3000 now). The two people we dealt with at the front desk were absolutely wonderful. The room was really quite small, and challenging to maneuver; same with the small bathroom. We probably wouldn’t stay there again. It was OK for one night.
