New Pelican

The best source for local news in Broward!

Very disappointed in the new owners of this once perfect local paper. I’ve owned a business here in Lighthouse Point for 20 years.
1) They did a terrible job on my write up.
2) They’ve become very political.
3) On their September 11th issue they printed on the front page about the problems with BSO but did not highlight the fact that 3 thousand people died on 911. In fact it was on the side bar of the front page. It should have been the whole page.
I wish Ann still owned the Pelican because if she saw how this paper is being run, she would probably buy it back or wish she hadn’t sold it. I will no longer allow the Pelican paper in my place of business. It’s too controversial for a small town in my opinion.

Love this paper. One of the best local papers. Awesome content and awesome staff

This is perhaps the best weekly I have read. It covers most of Northeast Broward County and includes local news and events usually not mentioned in the local daily newspaper. I have met only a few people, usually new to the area, who don’t read this paper. The best part is that it is FREE and available at many many places. Only Publix asks for money (a donation? to whom?). Go ahead and try a read. Oh, did I mention that it is FREE.
