I like the school, the environment is nice and no one seems to bother me much. Most teachers are friendly and offer help if the students need it. However, I have one complaint. I know the school is somewhat competitive when it come to academics, but I really can’t find the reason why when some of the kids are behind, the teacher has to be on their back 24/7. 1. It’s a bit humiliating when the teacher acknowledges that you are the behind one, infront of everyone in the class. See I can understand why they should monitor them, but there is absolutely no reason to call them out. There was a girl in my study hall, her study hall teacher had threatened to check her grades if she wasn’t doing work. She was doing work, but she was already done and the teacher never believed her. She was a bit behind in chemistry but she was studying hard and making sure her grades could finally go up. But, the teacher had the nerve to call her out because of ONE F, infront of everyone. Grades should be a private matter only to be discussed with a teacher and student PRIVATELY, not the teacher screaming “WHY DO YOU HAVE AN F” infront of everyone. You won’t make the student feel better, if anything, their self esteem could drop. It’s never ok to put pressure on someone. Just the right amount could eventually hurt them. Honestly this sounds like a really dumb thing to complain about, but I’ve seen this many times and it’s pretty harsh.

The kids have to endure 3 years in a horrible middle school to make sure they get in Pompano High …. but it is worth it! The students are taught in a responsible manner, using technology. The school offers many after school activities and sports ….. they love it!

Felt like winning the lottery.
My daughter is excelling academically and has joined many clubs and made some wonderful friends. The teachers and staff deeply care about the kids. The new block schedule along with Fridays off will be wonderful

I give this school a 4.5, because, it is filled with students who well, won’t accept you unless you are in the majority, basically a lot of teachers say more work = better success, that should not be the case. However, I give it a 4.5, because it is WAY more challenging than my Middle School, and I will be able to get into a great college because of this, on the other hand, again, what Obito Sigma said is correct, people will bash on you, and teachers will have high expectations, but that’s High School, in general. There are always people who will accept you, obviously, but be sure, to be active, as in do what you like to do, don’t keep your nose in a book, all day, even if your parents say so. They are basically setting you up for failure, you can have straight A’s and still fail at life, it’s all about finishing what you need to do, but still having fun, I recommend going to Homecoming, and other parties, please don’t stress, there are counselors for a reason.
PS: If you end up happy, you succeed, no exceptions. 🙂

Personally, I really do not like the school. Most students made fun of me just because I got a B+. I had an unweighted GPA of 3.93, and all I got was crap. I know that I was not the smartest kid in school, but I wanted to be SOMETHING. I cried; yet, everyone just bullied me. In my AP Bio class, I got a 4 on the exam… but who could I brag it too? Everyone did better that me. The students make up this school. To be honest, Pompano is the same as every other school in Broward County. Don’t go here if you are expecting to have friends or a better education.
