For a restaurant to close on weekends, it must be good. Sat at bar with the pixie glass every two seats. Rhonda was very busy. G ordered the conch appy, I had the baked clams . I could drink the liquid. Then I had the Bouillabaisse very good lots of shell fish and white fish. So very good . Great fresh fish .

The conch fritters are some of the best I’ve had outside of the Bahamas! It was a really hard making a choice for dinner because they were so many great options. But I chose the Bouillabaisse. It is a tomato based broth dish loaded with seafood like shrimp, mussels, clams and fish. Served with rice and peas and a side of your choice, it is a must try. Nice casual spot!

Excellent food quality, service is also very good. The place, is in no fancy located, but the definitively worth the trip. Prices are not cheap but more than acceptable considering the quality delivered. Try the fried conch, something not often found and delicious. Really happy to have found this little place. Will for sure return.

This was my first visit to Calypso, with a friend who is a regular. My buddy ordered Clams Casino as an appetizer and he shared one with me. It was amazingly flavorful, along with the texture of the clams. It will be my appetizer next time. My meal was fish and chips, with malt vinegar for the chips. Huge chunks of flaky white fish In a light batter—excellent. This is a very friendly neighborhood place in an unpretentious setting. Really good and flavorful food. A return visit is certainly in order.

One of the benefits we enjoy as floral installation experts is traveling all over South Florida. Gives us the chance to try restaurants we would otherwise not find. The best are the Independent places. Calypso is a fantastic example of this. Fresh local caught seafood, nothing farmed. Bread baked across the street, not mass produced down in Miami. Family recipes instead of a corporate printout. The owners are always in. They are part of the community which is a win-win.
The food is INCREDIBLE! Caribbean inspired, perfectly seasoned and great portions. We even had dessert, a rare occasion as we are typically disappointed with restaurant dessert. They make all of them on site and use actual key lime juice bottles in The Keys. All gone!!!
You will have an incredible meal and experience.
