Saito’s Japanese Steakhouse

What a disappointment. Service was extremely slow. While the restaurant was not crowded the waitress kept forgetting items.The hibachi cook had the table sitting and waiting over 30 minutes. No appetizers, food. No drinks. The appetizer of shrimp was finally cooked after the main meal. I had chicken. It was dry and overcooked. My husband had the filet and lobster. Dry and also overcooked. Sorry to say, we won’t be back anytime soon.

I’ve gone here for dinner and lunch. I absolutely love it! The lunch specials are a great value. You have to try them out!

Upon my arrival to Saito Japanese Restaurant in Pompano we (a party of three) was greeted and seated immediately. The cook was great but the server was okay she appears to be overwhelmed and kept forgetting to bring the item we requested (garlic butter, drinks and spicy Mayo). Now is when it get interesting… after I paid for my check and was signing the receipt is when I discovered an error was made. I was charged for gratuity. So I ask her to refund me the gratuity fee because your policy clearly states party of four will be charge a gratuity. She made it seem there nothing she can do since she already processed my payment. I told her refund the entire check and process the correct amount. She finally returned with the corrected check and as she handing me the credit card back she ask “did You tip the cook” at moment I was shocked. Excuse me what’s it to you? That was so unprofessional of her. She mentioned it’s perfectly normal and okay to ask because the waiters need to pay the cooks 8% per party… she need to know. I told her since she must know YES I did tip the cook. At that moment I realized she charge me on purpose knowing I wasn’t supposed to be charged for gratuity and hopes that I didn’t catch that. After we gather our thing and getting up to leave she brought over another waiter to ask me the same ask that I’ve already answered. I was Furious, frustrated, and embarrassed. Ask to speak to the manager that was a joke… He didn’t see anything wrong with what they did. He proceeded to empathize with her and explain to me why she did what she did. On how it’s hard and how unfortunate it is for her instead of getting paid she’ll take money out of her pocket to pay the cook their 8%. Okay instead you rip off your customers. Also, do you ask everyone in your restaurant did they tip the cook??? He said yes. I find that’s really hard to believe. I got nowhere with him.. This was my first and last time ever going to this restaurant. Never in my life have I’ve felt this way… I wasn’t about the money for me it’s the principle … they need a better system… don’t impact your customer this is unacceptable….

This place blows benihannas out of the water!! The food is better, the decor and environment are beautiful, and they’re cheaper!! I’ve gone probably 4 times since they opened and have had a great time every time I went! I recommend this place to all my friends and family cause it seriously is so good!

Worst experience Ever! The food was good, the waitress was good, their credit card system was down and they made me sit there for an hour and a half! I was tired and just wanted to go home. Finally I got them to take my credit card information and they let me go. Nothing comped for my inconvenience. Horrific customer service! I will never ever eat there again!
