Shoe Repair By The Sea

I had a few pairs of shoes to repair and found this cobbler online. I did my research since the shoes I needed repairing included my favourite pair of worn out boots (a pair of Ariats that I’ve used for everything including horse riding, hiking, festivals, and pretty much everything in between. I was going to throw them out because I wasn’t sure they could be saved), and also the most expensive pair of boots I own.
I did notice that this place was not rated highly but after reading a few reviews realised that these ratings were due to the previous owners, and that the new owner was a very experienced cobbler previously Manhattan based for decades.
Aldo was very personable and knowledgeable and I had no doubt that he could be trusted with my shoes. I can say I’m very happy with my choice and my shoes came back with a whole new lease on life and polished up like never before!
I can highly recommend Shoe Repair By The Sea and Aldo’s work and will definitely be using his services again.

5 months ago this shoe repair got a new management system. They now accept credit/debit cards and offer better service than the last. The new owner Aldo has been in the shoe repair business for over 30 years and I guarantee you will be more than satisfied with your repair needs.

I absolutely love this place! It’s under new management.. so much better now! My clothes get done within only a few days .. I do all my dry cleaning and shoe pair as well.. I recently had a designer purse cleaned and repaired.. this is my go to place.. and the lady is so sweet… ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I am not someone to post a negative review until I give a fair chance to make it right first . In this case I must review negatively.I have brought a few pairs of pants to be altered and also shoes to be expensive cleansed which means I’ve brought business repeatedly.Well my last visit was my final visit and here’s how it goes: I brought two pairs of shoes in there that I’ve had cleaned here before.When I went to go pick up those shoes This time a lady who I have not dealt with before tells me the charges $25 per shoe. When I know for a fact I was charged $10 in the past for just a brief cleansing. Now I understand I am someone who wears very nice shoes and I treat my possessions very very ver this time a lady who I have not dealt with before tells me the charges $25 per shoe. My point is there was very minimal work that needed to be done yet I’m being charged $30 more than normal price.When I questioned this Price I was told what felt like a run around a response. There is no price on the wall or paper, the register was down and you can only make cash payments Which was also an inconvenience.When I picked up the second pair they were in plastic bags not in the original dust bag protectors I had them in when I dropped them off.When I questioned where my dust bag were the lady called the shoe repair guy who was not on site and he said he needed to bring them in the next day because he had them with him wherever he was at.I’ve been had to leave my telephone number for them to reach out to me when my dust bags were returned so I can use them for my very expensive shoes that I like to protect. Well I have never received a phone call and it’s been weeks and I also have called multiple times to speak with an owner which I have still not heard from anyone yet. After all of this being the consumer and fair levelheaded person that I am was still going to give them an opportunity to either reimburse me or offer me a discount at service of some sort. That way I gave them a fair shot to save me as a Customer and continue to put my money into their store. Well today I found myself a new shoe guy his prices were exactly what i used to pay and he will now be receiving my money and my referral.As a consumer I look for honesty integrity communication and excellent customer service. When I receive that I will happily pay and keep my loyalty with a company. But once I give you a shot and you do nothing about it to make it right and leave a bad taste in my mouth our businesses is over

I absolutely love the Cobbler By the sea! My alterations were done exactly the way I wanted them to turn out. The lady doing the alterations had some great suggestions and was super helpful! I will definitely go back again. ❤️
