Southern Seas Resort On the Ocean

Great place.

Nice clean rooms and pool. Close to Lauderdale By The Sea restaurants and great Ocean view. Friendly staff.

Had never been there. Showed up without a reservation. The staff was wonderful and friendly. Our room was very clean and more than we expected. It was quiet and relaxing. Located right on the beach. Sitting outside and enjoying the view was just what we needed. Would definitely go back and looking forward to it.

Staff was very nice and helpful BUT the room was not very clean at all, they didn’t have any cleaning service while we were there for 3nights. Fridge froze everything we put in it. The beds headboard wasn’t bolted down and was falling over. Was not impressed what so ever and will not be staying here again.

I gave it 4 stars; some may think it should be less, but it comes down to expectations. It’s a place to stay with a great location. It’s quiet and dark at night. It’s not for divas. It’s not a luxury hotel, with a staff asking you what they can do to make you comfortable. They have clean sheets and fresh towels. It’s old construction, but solid. AC units keep it cool.
Negatives: Windows don’t all work. There’s a musty smell but you get used to it. The steps have been tiled so the last step is shorter than the rest, which can cause you to trip. On the third floor, there are 4″ steps in the corridor that you can trip on and stub your toes.
But I can deal with all those negatives and enjoy it for a place to stay and sleep at a great location.
