Michael Mai- calls, emails, and text me nonstop for months. I said yes I was looking for a new contract, and told him all my info. He said I will call you right back with the opportunities I find, and never did. So they are good at harassing you, but can’t back it up with any opportunities for experienced locums providers.

IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR PERMANENT PLACEMENT, I RECOMMEND YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE.

Matt at Weatherby contacted me and asked if I was interested in doing locums work. I explained that I was not interested in locums work but would consider a permanent placement. Matt told me that Weatherby would do that, though the client hospital might want to have me work a couple of shifts before I converted to a permanent contract. I explained that would be fine as long as we had all the details worked out in advance. I was then presented to a facility and interviewed with the medical director and told to speak to the HR person regarding details. After working all of this out, Matt turned me over to Nick at Weatherby, who told me I was out of line by talking to the hospital directly, and that he was not going to allow the hospital to negotiate anything with me unless I worked as a locum tenens first. I explained that I had the go ahead from Matt to speak to the hospital directly, and Nick explained that was not how they did business and that if I wanted a permanent position, I would need to work as a locum first and then we would discuss possible permanent placement. So basically, I would need to work as a locum physician before anything more would be worked out. If I had been told this to start, I wouldn’t have wasted my time.
